Garment Care

Garment Care

To ensure a long lifetime for your Rodebjer garments in the best condition throughout the items lifetime, take a moment to read through these recommendations.

Fine and exclusive materials are often delicate and needs to be handled with care. Due to wear and tear, love, ironing and washing the fabric of which the garments are made will change during its lifetime. We like to think of these changes as a process in the life of the garment, and like the tiny differences appearing during the time you will wear the garment. We like to think of is as patina and memories of the life we are living, our wardrobe being no restriction for life itself.

If you can, hang the garment outdoors to vent instead of washing.

Do never tumble dry your clothes as this will tear your garment and it will loose it´s original look and fit.

Always iron your garments inside out to avoid any iron marks outside of garment.

All these recommendations will ensure a longer lasting life of your garment and will also be more gentle way of saving the earths resources.

Always carefully read through the care instructions on the care label on each garment.

Shoes And Accessories Care

To ensure a long lifetime for your Rodebjer shoes and accessories in the best condition throughout the items lifetime, take a moment to read through these recommendations.

Shoes with a leather sole should be reinforced with a rubber sole in order to last longer. All materials are not water proof and therefor it is preferable to treat them with a waterproof spray. Ask your local shoe repair shop for advise on how to handle your specific shoes and the materials they are made out of.

Leather:
Leather is a durable material but needs maintenance to look as good as in the beginning. Leather should be polished and conditioned regularly with a shoe cream applied with a soft cloth. The natural wear and tear of the product also makea it more personal and adds a history to it that we value.

Suede
Suede and nubuck are very soft and sensitive materials that need special care. Please pay attention to the products that you use. Cleaning suede or nubuck is a hard task and water doesn´t do the work. It need to be treated with a waterproof product in order to restrain rain. Brush the suede materials regularly with a suede brush.
