The Ravenna Knit - An ode to an art form

Drawing on the intricacies of handcraft, the Ravenna macramé knit is an ode to an enduring art form. The product of a collaboration between Rodebjer and a women-led cooperative in Lima, Peru – the Ravenna knit is as eclectic as it is refined. The process is elaborate, with each knit requiring roughly one week to craft from beginning to end. Each measured, knotted, wrapped, and mastered.

Formed as a means to lend independence to the women, the cooperative helps to enable women to both work and support their families. Protecting the craft to be passed down from generation to generation, artisan to artisan.

“I’m so proud to have worked together with these amazing Peruvian artisans to co-create this piece. The skills these women demonstrate are a true gift, and I’m humbled to be able to continue this tradition of craftsmanship.“
