LISELOTTE WATKINS

Swedish artist and longtime Rodebjer muse LISELOTTE WATKINS, has created artwork for a limited edition silk Agave caftan, featuring an abstract color block print.

As part of the collaboration with Rodebjer named ‘The edit’, WATKINS has curated a selection of pieces from the Rodebjer Pre Fall 19 collection, as well as an assortment of souvenirs such as straw bags and hats, from Capri.

The artwork for the caftan is inspired by ‘Story of San Michele’, a memoir by the Swedish physician Axel Munthe, detailing his search to cure listless women of an ennui he coined ‘colitis’. The prescription for this ailment was to visit Villa San Michele on the Italian island of Capri, a place where these women could recover.

Le Mepris is a 1963 film by French director Jean-Luc Godard, set on the Italian island of Capri.
